That 911 looks great! The Guards Red always pops and the single stage paint is a joy to work with. Plus, the period correct BBS wheels add a nice touch.
The Porsches from the 80's (SC and 3.2) are very reliable cars. In fact, I know of one '86 3.2 that is a daily driver and has 400,000 miles without an engine rebuild.
I think there was a transmission update in '86, which makes the '86-88 more reliable.
The SC's and 3.2's are not really money pits, unless you want to prep the car for the track. Otherwise, it's an affordable Porsche.
The condition and mileage are the major determinants. Also, the more options, the better.

I prefer the older 911's ('65-'73), but they have gone up so much in value and are expensive to restore.
