As you can see in the after picture, the reflection is much more defined than before. I'm sure if I could get the right amount of pressure on them with D151, I could remove many of the scratches on there. I was just happy that the reflective qualities of red were brought back. I know they make the brake/parking lights much more visible and look much nicer one the car.
I did wonder afterwards whether my tone might be misread ... even though we speak the same language, this side and that side of the pond actually speak quite different languages.

I understand - thank you for the reply. Yes indeed, there is some clarity restored. I do know how careful one has to be with old cars, especially when dealing with parts that are difficult to source. I have kept a keen eye on D151 as it seems like a product well suited to fast recovery of "barn finds" and cars "dragged out of hedgerows". Good work fella - that car is great

151 to my understanding is a cleaner wax... its not supposed to remove all the swirls. Its made to be a quick easy shiner-uper. It looks like it did that job very well!

It's all good and thank you for your comments. I was wanting to remove the scratches as much as I can, but w/o replacement lenses...I didn't want to chance it. I hope I didn't come off like I was offended. If I did I am sorry. I was really showing off how well the lenses came out after the fact.
D151 is some really great stuff. I am in the process of doing a truck that hasn't been detailed in many, many years. My Mom is currently away, so I'm going to surprise her with this detail....engine, interior and exterior. Many pictures on their way.

Cool! Looking forward to seeing these pictures - as soon as I can get my hands on some D151 and a suitable vehicle to show off the process, I'll be doing the same.

What colour is the Skyliner, BTW? Have you had a go at the front headlights, yet? Are they glass?

Would D151 be a suitable product for that, too? What say you guys?

I'm not really certain the color name for the Skyliner. I will have to check with my Dad on that. The front headlights are glass. I know Tim Lingor used
D151 on the headlights of a Toyota Corolla he was testing on. They came out really nice. That is what gave me the idea of using D151 on the taillights. I don't think D151 will have much effect on glass, but it does really nice on plastic. I look forward to seeing your project vehicle for D151.
