  • Audi A4

A friend of mine asked if I could detail his A4. I couldn't resist the temptation. So, I've spent most of today in his drive way and garage working on the car. It took me 6 hours to get it done and I found my biggest challenge in cleaning the rims and ... the windows. The later needed three applications of NXT Gen Glass Cleaner to become clean.
    This is my process:
    1) washing tires (Vers-Angle Tire Brush With Short Handle + NXT Generation Foam Tire Cleaner)
    2) washing wheel wells (Extra)
    3) washing rims (Ultra-Safe Wheel Spoke Brush + Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner)
    4) washing the body (Vers-Angle Body Brush With Long Handle + NXT Generation Car Wash)
    5) drying (Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel)
    6) claying (Supreme Shine Microfiber + Quik Clay + Quik Detailer)
    7) cleaning paint (Soft Foam Applicator Pad + Supreme Shine Microfiber + Deep Crystal Step 1 Paint Cleaner)
    8) polishing (Soft Foam Applicator Pad + Supreme Shine Microfiber + Deep Crystal Step 2 Polish)
    9) waxing stage 1 (Soft Foam Applicator Pad + Deep Crystal Step 3 Carnauba Wax) - applying wax
    10) detailing tires ( Tyre Dressing Applicator Pad + Hot Shine Tire Spray Trigger) - two applications
    11) detailing trim (microfiber towels + NXT Generation Tech Protect)
    12) detailing door seals and sills (microfiber towels + NXT Generation Tech Protect oraz Supreme Shine Microfiber + Quik Detailer)
    13) cleaning windows (Duo-Fiber Glass Towel + NXT Generation Glass Cleaner)
    14) waxing stage 2 (Supreme Shine Microfiber) - wipe off
    15) waxing rims (Soft Foam Applicator Pad + Deep Crystal Step 3 Carnauba Wax + Supreme Shine Microfiber)
    16) final touch (Supreme Shine Microfiber)
When I handed the car back to the owner he said he was absolutely delighted and enchanted by the result. Well, that means it was worth the effort.

In the background you can sometimes see my Corolla. It also reflects in the rear bumper in one photo.

    NICE!
The only reason some people get lost in thought... is because it is unfamiliar territory for them.

            Re: Audi A4

Thank you for the nice comments. To be honest, I could have done a better job. I had problems removing dirt which was buried in or embedded into the rims and lower part of the body. Clay removed a lot of it but if I had used Bug&Tar Remover I could have probably removed more if not all. But I was a bit reluctant to use B&T because ... I do not know ... I used it in the past and it gave me some problems with wiping it off and I think I got prejudiced. Well, I will have to change my approach if I want to improve my detailing.

Isn't there always something we could do better?

The important thing is you did your best in a reasonable time. I always feel like we could put another 2 hours into a job, but at some point you have to stop and give the owner their car back

Keep up the good workThe care looks great
