    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

    My wife being a pain

    Process:

    Clay with mild clay
Rotary with M83 Dual Action Cleaner/Polish
DA with M82 Swirl-Free Polish (my uncle did it)
    DA with #21 Synthetic Sealent
    Cruise around Fargo!

That's all we had time for. No wheels, windows, interior... It still took 8 hours because it was partly an educational detail with my uncle.

The DA and M82 left a little bit of micro-marring, but in our test spot it seemed to leave the best finish versus finishing with the rotary. One thing we didn't try was rotary/M82/finishing pad, though. Maybe next time...

                        Re: 1998 Black Corvette de-swirled

Thanks for the kind words. All I did was copy what Mike Phillips did on the black Corvette from a couple years back, except I used M82 on the DA for my uncle so he didn't have to deal with the learning curve of M83.

The car only had about 28,000 miles on it, so it didn't need anything aggressive. Obviously, the previous owner wasn't careful about their washing habits. I know my uncle will take care of it because we're of the same stock! His previous car was a '73 Datsun Z that he swapped a Chevy 350, headers and exhaust system into and had a new paint job and he was QUITE picky about how the paint looked- it was pretty much swirl-free when I saw it.

This was a special detail job to me because I lost my Dad when I was four years old, and this uncle is my Dad's brother. My dad was a car guy and I never had the chance to detail with him. He had a 65 GTO convertible and later had a Super Bee.

I forgot to mention that, though I said my wife was "being a pain" in my first post, she's actually really amazing and patient with me about detailing. She doesn't really understand why I go so insane with it, but she loves getting to enjoy the results!

She is truly a Godsend, and is incredibly supposrtive and encouraging to me and our 15-month old son.
