  • GMC S-15 now bra-less

Got this thing and talked the owner into leaving the HIDEOUS bra off this thing, they have NO idea what a bra does to a finish.
Had to wetsand the hood for two hours to get the marks our, then buff and polish. Red is so eye popping when its clean

    when it got dropped off...

    what lies beneath the bra

    during wetsanding

Awesome as usual!!! And, thanks for the pictures... now my wife will understand why I won't let her buy a bra for her car!

Beautiful job, I have to admit GM makes the best bright red (IMO).

I once had a '91 Firebird Formula that had a bra on it when I bought it and I PROMPTLY took it off. It looked ridiculous, and it left scratches in the paint and the paint color had faded differently.

I had an S-10 that color on which I learned to use the DA polisher, and did my first rotary work on the inside of the bed. That red is one of the best looking colors I've ever had. The paint was REALLY soft and I could never avoid micro-marring with the DA. My last detail on it was with the rotary and M80 and I never saw any holograms. I just kept it under 1000 RPMs.

Looks great! That color will be glowing in the dark!

Great job! I had a 98 S-10 Sport side in Dark Cherry red metallic, it always looked great when it was clean. One question, did you measure the clear before you wet sanded? I didn't look like you went too deep, but I've alway heard that factory paint shouldn't be wet sanded. Not that I disagree with the results one bit!!!
          Good work!

the front end was in an accident less than a year ago and my father in law was the body shop they took it to for repair, so i just had to discuss it with him and he gave me the go ahead, just not too deep, any deeper and i woudnt have even tried it.

The truck looks so much better without the bra. Great work as usual. Way to go.
