  • Detailed my 2008 Black Sand xB

Decided to do my end of summer detailing before I start my internship/coop full time. I will probably have little or no time to really give my car any love until December because of this, so today was a perfect day to do it!

    Took 4hrs and 45mins altogether!

1.) Wash with Gold Class & Dry
    2.) Meg's #83 via LC Orange Pad
3.) NXT 2.0 via LC Grey Finishing Pad
4.) Finished by polishing headlights with PlastX, RainX treatment on the windows, and endurance tire gel.

Although not pictured, I did the engine bay and interior earlier in the week.

And finally, one last reflection shot (sorry it's not better, sun went away!)

The only reason some people get lost in thought... is because it is unfamiliar territory for them.

Nope, none at all! Finish comes out haze-free with no need to run a white pad or something like #80 afterwards.

I was surprised there isn't after hearing how soft Scion's paint is. But really, it needs quite a bit of work to correct it seems! This is the second Scion I have done (I did a tC a few months ago, same color) and used the same combo. White with #80 just was not as effective. Tried white with #83 and a bit better, orange did the best with no marring so that is my combo of choice!

                Looks really great, nice job!

I'd bet if you hit it with #80 and a LC blue or green pad after #83 it would bring out even more gloss and depth.

                It looks super clean
