  • 2004 Mercedes Benz S500 DETAILED

This past weekend I worked on an S500 Mercedes both on the interior and the exterior. Customer requested me to focus more on the interior in which I did. I went with D-151 PRC on the exterior which cleaned it up pretty well considering this paint was super hard. I believe this has the Ceramiclear. I tried the WWLC7 yellow wool pad & some 105 to see how well that would do & after 2 passes that did the trick may use that on the next detail. I proceeded with 151 being that this car is always outdoors and is silver which makes it difficult to see any swirls at all. Customer was quite happy with the end result and I now have a maintenance program set up. Next detail will focus more on the paint & some engine cleaning & one more pass on the mats. Scheduled for October I'll see how well D-151 holds up.

    INTERIOR
    - Wiped down with APC 10:1
    - Carpet was spot treated with APC+ & extracted using my LGM which saw the last of its days. A new LGM has been purchased.
    - Leather seats were treated with Leather Cleaner & Conditioner from Meguiars
    - #40 on the rubber door gaskets

    EXTERIOR
    - Washed with NXT
    - Clayed with the Mild blue clay bar
    - W-8006 with some 151 PRC on the G110
    - WB on the wheels
    - HD on the tires

The paint was was really rough to the touch. The mild clay was good enough to completely remove the bonded contaminants

Customer is going to have aftermarket wheels installed so I was requested not to spend too much time on these wheels

After I cleaned and extracted the water the carpet looked clean. I didn't notice the yellow spots until after I took a flash photo. I tried removing the yellowish stains but to no avail. They had to stay. As long as flash photography is not taken you will nt be able to see these stains. Strange.

Nice job on the interior. I've been thinking about getting a LGCM for some time. When you extract with it, do you use clean water on the carpet or just the water in the LGCM? I'm a little curious on the exact method.

I use clean water. Not sure if you are familair with the LGM but it does have a spray nozzle that sprays water from one of the LGM tanks. You can either put some of the Bissell cleaner or clean water. I just spray that onto the carpet as I move the nozzle forward and extract as I bring it back.

Did you apply the Leather C & C on the arm rests of the doors or another protectant? Nice job on the Merc.

Yes I pretty much applied it to everything that is leather including the steering wheel.

Could you provide more details on the process for your mats? I am using APC+ 4:1 (previously tried 10:1) and my floor mats did NOT come even close to what you have done. My driver's side mat has what looks like tar or asphalt. Maybe I am expecting too much but I have seen quite a few that were worse than mine or what you have shown.

I am expecting it's my process. I did spot treat and scrub. I then waited several minutes before I used an LGM (water only).
