Hiya yesterdays job was for a neighbour about to sell there car a Toyota Avensis on a 52 reg (2002/2003).
It turns out that it had been washed for the majority of its life with a brush, until payday comes my most aggressive product was #83 and a polishing pad. So I set to work and each section was needing three passes. The angular nature of the marks believes me to think that removal would be tricky and perhaps a rotary needed to remove what is safe to do so.
The start time was 9.30 and I had to start work at 4.15 so I spent about 6 hours on it. Due to the lack of time I had machine with a few spots of #83 and one spot of #80 on a pad. This removed all but the worst and decided with the time constraints, following on from the machine, I tried Megs DC2 on finishing pad to no benefit so gave up, and went to waxing, Megs Gold Class and Collinite 476.
Inside was done for me with Megs Nxt Glass Cleaner and various other products while I was busy on the exterior. Tyres dressed with Hot shine and the trim with Trim Detailer.
A strange thing I did notice was the polish on trim pieces was not removed by any attempts, I had forgot my magic eraser pads, but when I accidentally got collinite on the trim it seemed to darken it and hide the white wax residue on it? Any idea guys I am confused.
