This is a company truck for a sprinkler installation company. The finish was very neglected and the truck's bed was scraped and scratched everywhere. My girlfriend who works in the office overheard one of the managers talking about getting it detailed and she referred them to me.
The car was brought over for a pretty late start around 4 PM. Not much time left in full sun, it would be picked up the next morning so I had some time with it. Car came with mud, swirls, and rocks.
Here's the process as well as I can recall:
The result was a perfectly smooth surface you could see yourself in!
The interior results came out great. The truck is worn and still looks somewhat tired but much improvement from before.
PICS!
Harder to see the true condition of paint here but you can see some dirt.
MMMmmm mud.
Here is some of that caked on dirt that didn't remove easily.
A blue box made of tape is not a good place for swirls. The picture really doesn't do justice to just how swirled the surface was, especially the quarter panels. Wish I took more swirl pics.
Once the tape was removed, this is after 83 and 80 and before any wax was applied. Much more clarity and gloss.
Here's an inside shot of the front before cleaning.
...And an after.
Back Seat before...

...And After

Full Shots
You can see reflection now!

Because It's not a real detail without some full sun shots.

Here's the process as well as I can recall:
- Exterior
- Tires and Rims Scrubbed with a tire brush and some All purpose cleaner I wanted to finish up
- Bumpers and dirt chunks persuaded off the bumpers using tire brushes.
- Gold Class wash using microfiber mit and brush where tougher scrubbing necessary.
- Dried with California Gelly Water Blade and Absorber Shammy.
- Clayed with Meguiars Mild Detailing Clay (Amazed with results of claying EVERY time I use it)
- Washed once more, same method.
- #83 With Meg's Polishing Pad and DA. PC 7424
- #80 With Meg's Polishing Pad and DA.
- Vinyl trim and black trim &Bumpers got Megs #40
- Wheels got Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish
- Topped with NXT 2.0 Paste applied by hand. (Just feels good)
The result was a perfectly smooth surface you could see yourself in!

- Interior
- Air blown most dust and dirt out.
- Vacuumed.
- All purpose cleaned vinyl.
- Carpets Shampooed and scrubbed by hand.
- Dash and plastics got meg's vinyl protectant.
- Stripes for fresh looking carpets.
- Odor eliminator.
The interior results came out great. The truck is worn and still looks somewhat tired but much improvement from before.
