  • Thanks again Scratch X, and NXT liquid tech wax

Well, I found this 1 owner 98 Subaru legacy 5 speed AWD wagon, for those of you who know me know this isn't exactly my kinda car. Well the wagon bit isn't. I regret not being able to take before photos it was dark, but from this one engine bay shot, I'm sure you get the point.. This car was owned and lived outdoors for the past 10 years with the 1 and only owner, I found it sitting under a tree on a dealer lot, calling me over to it.

I had an idea to try and polish the car with just a bottle of Meguiar's Scratch-X and then follow up by working in some NXT liquid Tech Wax and buffing it to a rich shine. I figured what can it hurt, right the cars 10 its nothing but dings, dents, scratches etc so what ever I did it wasn't going to make it any worse.

This is how it turned out:

Well Thanks again Meguiar's products to the rescue.

Don't mind the Trooper missing parts, I don't wanna finish that project so it's going to the junkyard!

For a ten year old car that has been neglected it looks great, you've done a good job!
Subaru are awesome cars and they last years without a problem, I have one

      Nice save!

Just goes to show that using the right products and the right techniques can result in changing a diamond in the rough into a glistening gemstone... or a glistening Subaru Legacy.

Good find, my last Subaru (a '93 Legacy GT wagon) went for almost 200k trouble free miles. These are good , reliable cars and an oil change is a 5 minute job. You do not even need to put the car on ramps.

If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Great work. that was pretty ambitious of you to do the car by hand. all that hard work paid off. it looks great.
