Volkswagen Golf GT 1.4 TSI (170ps)

Hiya, haven’t had much to right up at the min, But finally have a excuse this is my dads new car, it’s a 2006 Vw Golf GT (the supercharged and turbo charged engine, I have been allowed a quick go for my nice cleaning jesture, and it is very fast). Im Also going to keep the process simple…

    Process:
    · Remove wheels, Give arches a clean with APC (briefly as wheels were where the attention was required)
    · Wheels – Clean with Wonder Wheels (car plan) this stuff is strong and bleached the grass as u can see in some photos its gone yellow), the front part of the wheels just got a wash with APC+ fairy, Then Megs GC wax + Collinite 476s
    · Car Wash – Megs GC + Nxt mix
    · Dry – MF
    · Clay- Smooth Surface Clay kit (also comes with a Megs Cleaner Wax Sample)
    · Polishing- Could have probably done with a little bit more cut here but #83 + #80 were takin the worst out (not that a knew for days for sure as there has been little sunshine)
    · Wax- Megs GC and Collinite 476s
    · Trim and Engine Plastics – Sonus Total Eclipse Vinyl Plastic & Rubber Protectant (for a not to shiny finish)
    · Tyres still have something on that the Vw Dealer put on, its oily and greasy, I am waiting for it to wear off rather than smearing it all over the alloys.
    · Interior – Simple Vac and Autoglym Interior Shampoo in a few spots.
    · Total Time – Estimated 10-13 hours (Dad did help remove wheels and buff of wax, I was happy for the help by the end by arms were sore)

    Befores:

Alloys: (should have taken more pics the insides were filthy)

    Interior:

    Door Shuts too:

Engine: (quick wipe of plastics with sonus that’s all due to only covered 17,000miles)

    Exhaust:

    Afters:

(my car now forced outside to make way for the new one!) please excuse the bin bags and vacuum cleaner

Unfortunately I was wanting some pictures in the sunshine to show the colour of and see how many swirls were removed (I got a good 90% correction I think, I now have one very happy dad), two days later the sun finally came out so I took some more.

(me just messin with the camera settings)

After finishing the Golf, I was a bit envious so decided to give the Clio a quick was and dress the front tyres (new tyres fitted), also I know we don’t talk about tyres much but I have had Toyo Proxes TR-1’s fitted to the front and the transformation is amazing they have so much grip for not very much money, much better than the Continentals they replaced.

    Thanx For Reading,
    Christian

That is a huge improvement. The golf looks so much better. Great work. Way to go.

thanks for the great comments guys, makes all that work seem while. until we go on holiday i wont find out how hard LHD manual gearbox cars are, it will certainley be a change to use the right hand for the gears (extra hard as i am also left handed)
