Did a little engine detailing today

Nothing fancy, just used some detailer and plastic/rubber protectant where needed. I spend about an hour making sure to clean all the hoses, batter, and little nooks and crannies were cleaned. On the way though I did find the biggest fly ever fried to the engine... I had to pop it loose with a flathead!

Engine looks really nice after it was completed! Wasn't too dirty to begin with but had some dust and dirt scattered all over. This is a 2008 Scion xB by the way!

Excellent stuff. It's the little bit extra like this that rounds off a good detail.

The trick is to regularly maintain the engine bay to prevent the buildup of dirt and grime over time rather than trying to do the occasional extreme engine bay detail.

Looks great! I can never understand why the engine cover has the Toyota logo instead of the Scion logo...I know they're the same company but still...they should have their own logo.

Thanks for all the comments. My girlfriend loved how clean it was and she wanted help on doing hers (a 2005 Mazda 3 that has never seen an engine detail!). The result came out amazing for the time we worked on it, looks 100x better than it did. Sadly, no before/after pics I just used a simple soap/water mixture to clean off the heavy dirty and finished with some Meguiars rubber/vinyl protectant. Looked great!
