  • My mini truck.

Unfortunetly I dont have any close up shots for a good before... But I can tell you it had allot of orange peel and other roughness. I also appologize for some of the pics it rained for 2 minutes after I got home from the car show and left some water marks I didnt notice till after I took the pictures...haha but you get the idea. I've seemed to lost my good pics..sorry like anything its way better in person....cell phone pics to the rescue.

This is the hood my most problematic area. When I painted the truck I didnt paint the doors or hood because I had future plans anyway. The rest of the truck I used a SS paint on. I wetsanded and buffed the doors and they came out fine. The hood seemed to have hardly any clear coat from the factory and in a test area I blew right through the clear way to easily so I didnt go crazy with it. As a matter of fact I hardly was able to do much...I did the left side and took a pic then the right. Some swirls and fine scratches remain. But thats fine I'll repaint it when I shave my door handles and repaint the front bumper

My favorite picture...the only one where its inside, clean, and out of harms way.

The difference is amazing heres a small BEFORE picture...best I have.

Looks good, interesting tail lights, reminds me of the old 70's Cadillac tail lights...

What kind of gas mileage does it get?

          Re: My mini truck.

Thanks guys. Its funny when I post on a ford ranger dedicated forum all I get are the "you should"s....

Yea those taillights are 'bolt-on' either. They are 89 caddy deville lights. Allot of work went into those lights and that rear end for that matter.

If Im in the mood to drive like I stole it...which is most of the time 17 mpg ish...if I drive it like gas is 4.15 a gallon....20-21 ish. It was and is my daily driver. For a year and a half I commuted from home to school it was about 120 miles round trip. Plus work on top of it some days averages about 140 miles no problem. Gas is more now but I dont see the gas station every day.

I like the custom stuff you've done to it man, before I even bought a car and as a kid I remember Mini Truckin being the magazine that always caught my eye and I ended up subscribing to it. Loved those slammed small pickups for whatever reason. You got any plans to slam yours?

Sweet truck...I definitely noticed the custom work on the rear end

I sure love the looks of the Ford EDGE....makes me miss my old 2002 Ranger EDGE...

                Re: My mini truck.

Now thats a clean edge!.... I love the edge model. Unfortunelt when I bought it with plans to lower it and such I didnt realize the 2wd edge model had a 4x4 suspension (torsion bars up front) which meant lowering it was impossible. But then I lowered it anyway almost 7 inches all around which still isnt that low because the stock suspension sat 2-3 inches higher than a normal 2wd ranger.

I do have plans to slam it. But once its not my daily or I have another solid vehicle. To get it to touch the ground might be difficult, it being an edge has a funky engine cross member or maybe tranny xmember i dont remember but something somewhere gets in the way unlike a regular ranger... Unless I body drop it.

Slapped a for sale sign on it the other day and keep asking more than its actually worth. No rush to sell it and the only way Id part with it is if i got sentimental value haha.

Oh and you'd be suprised how many people only notice the license plate is crooked...

"did you mean to do that?"

"nope...meant to make it straight but was having a really really bad day"

Nice looking truck. Never seen the caddy tails on a ford, seen them on many Chevy's.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.
