  • SR Detailing: 2006 BMW M5

Hey guys...here are some more pictures of the M5 I do pretty often. He is getting ready to sell it; gas prices and maintenance are too much on him. It's a early 06 model with 21,000 miles...most of which are around race tracks so its taken its toll. The last time it was washed was in late March and I applied NXT 2.0 to it. This guy is the funniest guy I've ever met though. He is very protective of his car and he carefully looks it over after everytime I wash it and checks the MPG and distance driven to make sure it didn't leave but he dropped it off at 9am on Monday and didn't pick it up until after 10pm on Monday...weird but oh well. He always does that too...drops it off, goes somewhere and comes back 6-10 hours later.

    Process:
    Wheels with Wheel Brightener
    Tires with APC+
    Wash with Gold Class
    Dry with Absorber
    Wax with NXT 1.0
    Interior with IQD and Vacuum
Other little things here and there to pass time again.

Don't take it the wrong way. He probably checks the MPG because many people use their customer's cars to drive around instead of their own. I speak from personal experience. My parents have taken their cars to a "mechanic" and every time he brought them back the tank was almost empty when they were delivered with a full tank.

I'm sure as time goes by, he'll become more trusting of you. There are some abusive people out there who do what I just stated above and it really isn't ethical at all unless you absolutely need to use it for something.

O yea...not fun to do. The ultra safe wheel brush Meguiar's used to make is perfect for getting the inner part of the wheel, but its still a good 10 minutes per wheel.

A lot of the cars I do are family friends and/or neighbors. I really don't advertise at all and I get about 5-6 cars a weekend normally and up to 14 sometimes. Thats enough to keep me busy and have money to buy more car washing stuff or what not. Right now I'm trying to get this family friend to let me wash his Aston Martin but he doesn't want me too even though I've showed him pictures of my work and offered money back and to let him watch me and everything. Next weekend I have a 2008 Corvette to wash..that should be fun.

Yea..he has been talking about selling it for about 3 months now and the costs are really getting to him. I told him to stop racing it every weekend but thats just not his nature. Hopefully when gas price go down he'll buy something again. He used to have a M3 CSL and a M Coupe and then a older M5, so M vehicles are his thing but he can't afford to get new tires every month and brakes.

Thanks for all the compliments guys...it means a lot!!

Yea the first time I washed it he didn't even leave me the key and happen to drive by about 10 times. It doesn't really offend me because I wouldn't even think about leaving my $90k, 500HP car with a 16 year old (not saying I'm bad, most are though), so I kind of take it as a compliment that he even leaves it with me for so long.

                  Thanks for the compliments!

yeah, I'd probably be suuspicious too, its just the simple nature of things anymore, there are a lot of untrustworthy people

for the most part though, anyone I know that keeps as good care of their cars as MOL people do, are more than trustworthy

I don't know Ryan. You're a shady fella. I'd keep my keys with me at all tiimes. Just kidding. Great job on that M5 once again. Hopefully he'll hand over that Aston Martin for you to work on.
