  • Took the Supra out, with my friends 3000GT

My Supra is always bathed in Meguiar's car wash, cloaked in NXT tech wax, and rocking hot shine spray on it's shoes, black bumper trim, and side skirts. My friends 3Kgt on the other hand, he just finished the engine rebuild (bought the car as a project) so it hasn't had body work yet, and isn't washed, waxed, or even the same color. He spray painted the bumpers just to ad color to them so I won't even touch the car to detail it .

Anyway, I just wanted to share a few photos, we stopped at an old train station to grab some pics before lunch. I hope you like the scenery! It was an interesting little photo opportunity I couldn't pass up.

The paint on the 3000gt is looking white from being oxidized, I saw in this section a little while ago someone had done up an identical 3000 which was red, and removed the oxidation - I tried to tell my friend what to do but he isn't interested in advice he knows everything so, he told me "my car is mint, it doesn't need anything man."

    Can you believe that?

Looks like he needs to hit his rims up with some cleaner too

Maybe this photograph will change his mind.

On the other hand, this vehicle seems to be different colours ranging from orange to red depending upon which part it is.

The 1st gen 3000GT's were a single stage paint job. So no clearcoat. Many of them that I have seen are pink due to neglect of the paint. Your friend should have it Ming'd or at least hit it up with some paint cleaner, polish, and then wax. But many 91-93 that I have seen are too far gone for any real polish restoration, and just simply need new paint since the car is about 15 years old.
