  • Scion TC Detail

Ok well i always forget to take pics or i get the before pics but forget the afters. This time i forgot to get before but i got plenty of afters. I did get a few before and afters of the engine bay though . I detailed this car about 3 weeks ago with a good wash, clay, polish, wax with GC. He is heading to Houston for a car show so he brought it by for a little touch up so i washed it and cleaned the engine bay and also shinned it up a bit and topped the GC from the last detail with NXT 2.0. Enjoy

Engine bay before, still clean from last detail but just shinned it up a bit and polished the Aluminum heat shield i think its called.

    After

The aluminum before polishing with Megs Mag and Aluminum Polish

After Megs Mag and Aluminum Polish

All the rest of the pics are after shots of the Detail Enjoy

Oh and a few advertisement shots

That is one sweet looking car, beautiful job Derrick. Couple of questions if you don't mind. Did you do that by hand and what do you use to clean the engine bay like that?

              Thanks for any tips.

Nice job on the t/c Derrick...those rims set the car off .Also the tinted windows look good with the black paint as well. They are very nice cars for the money and roomy as well.

Derrick, you truly are a craftsman. Seriously, nice work, your customers are lucky.

By any chance do you have pictures of this same car after you applied the Gold Class the first time? I'm not sure if it's just me, but the finish with the NXT 2 seems sterile to me. The car seems to have a "silver" sheen to it. Big shine and reflections, no doubt, but it seems to lack the warmth that a black paint should have. Maybe I'm crazy and it's just my view, but I bet it looks better with the Gold Class. JMO.

no unfortunalty last time i finished at night so i was unable to take after photos. I love the look of NXT 2.0 but like i mentioned before i think in a post you made, it just comes down to preference. What looks good my eyes may look different to you but both GC and NXT are awesome waxes and i love them both. I just topped with GC with NXT 2.0 because he was going to a car show and i figured the wet look that NXT offers would help out a little.

No I used my 10" orbital for apply and removing the wax. I did polish the headers heat shield by hand with Megs HotRims Mag and Aluminum Polish. Here is a pic i took for another thread on the tools and products i use on an engine bay. As i stated in those post ignore the stuff in the back ground, just the products i pulled up front and the only product you don't see in the pic that is use it Turtle wax Ice for the paint surface in the engine bay. I use that just because it is easier i think to get to all the hard to reach painted areas without the worry about hitting other things and getting wax everywhere.

Nice job! Great reflections. Love the wheels and the low profile tires.
