    1992 Honda Prelude Detail

This is a 1992 prestine Honda Prelude Coupe that belongs to Mike aka "Xtreme-Klean" here on MOL. The majority of the paint is single stage with some areas painted over with clear. I believe the clear coated areas is the hood, front bumper, passenger side front fender & passenger side door. Whether it was clear coated or single stage paint M105 did the job with better than expected results. I don't have any before pics because being that the paint is white it was very difficult to get a good picture of the defects. The condition of the paint was hazy & had a yellowish tint to it. After M105 the white really popped out.

    PROCESS:
    -Washed with Gold Class
-A couple areas were clayed. (Mike keeps the car very clean to begin with thus the name "Xtreme-Klean")
-M105 with W-8006 on the rotory
-Polished with Optimum on rotory & W9006
    -Waxed
-Hyper dressing on the tires & wheel wells
    -PB on trim

    Time: 6hrs

This is the shot after the M105 before the final polish. (MF for display purposes only)

    Here is the end result

Not to mention this was a hot weekend. 95+ degrees. Vehicle was polished in the garage and all polish & wax cooperated nicely.
THANK YOU MIKE for giving me the opportunity to work on your car. I know you're a detailed fella & knowing you were satisfied with the results really made my day as well.

Thanks. The owner was telling me that these are rare now. You'll probably see one every once in a while.

Thanks J.A. Michaels. The owner said it looks just as good as when it came out of the dealership in 94. Once we took it out the sunlight I literally was blinded for a few seconds.

              Just an update:

Car belongs to my brother. It is a 1992 Honda Prelude with 215,000 miles on it. Car came painted in single stage white. Confirmed this info with Honda tech article.

The outcome looked like the day it was purchased new. Almost zero flaws left. Great job Jesse. M105 does amazing stuff with the right technique.

I wanted to also add that the detail shown makes me think that I need to try harder on my white Mazda.

                  Truly, great work.

Re: 1994 Honda Accord Coupe DETAIL

Well that's definitely not an Accord, that is a 4th Generation (1992-1996) Honda Prelude and I have the same car. I absolutely love mine and I am not getting rid of it anytime soon. They are very reliable cars that handle extremely well and are a lot of fun to drive.

I also doubt that the factory finish was single stage, I would be very surprised.

You did a great job on the detail, however please don't label this car as an Accord (no offense to Accord owners, they are great cars) or put it in the same category as Civics, the Prelude is actually a real sport coupe from the factory.

Thanks Mike for clarifying my screwed up info. I wrote this during work rather quickly since I currently don't have a computer at home. I even forgot which polish & wax was used since I'm not familair with them. (supplied by Mike, thanks)

Wax is Menzerna Full Moleculer Jacket
                      Final polish is Optimum Polish

I guess I would also be upset if someone confused my SRT-4 to a Dodge Neon or Plymouth Breeze.

I guess you understand where I'm coming from.

No worries my friend, no offense taken.
