  • Toyota Hilux Cleanup

Hi guys.. This is a simple job that I did over the previous weekend. (I'm not a pro detailer - i just like to clean my cars) Took me around 10hrs to complete with some beer breaks.

Car is a Toyota Hilux (Asian Name ; not sure what its called in the states. Might be Tundra /Tacoma) Its a 1994 car and used daily to run around the family estates. I've had it for 3years now. Its been repainted on some sections of the cars (it was like that when I bought it from the previous owner) and had terrible swirls, RIDS, marring, water marks and bits of COW POOP under the seats!! (have no idea how they got there) ...I love this car and wouldn't wanna sell it for a quick solution..(sentimental values ..) so I Meguiarized it.

    Things that I did :

    Cleaning:
    Shampoo Plus + 2BM
    MF Mitt
    Water Magnet (RV blue)
Body Solvent on bottom part of doors (lots of tar spots)
SDeg undercarriage and WB on wheels (its not looking great but at least the brake dust is gone)
APC on fenders, truck liner, interior carpet, tyres ...
Engine Comp - i just wipe down with Last Touch.
Glass got treated with D120 Glass Cleaner and sealed with RainX (haha - i knw there's rainx haters but hey, it works on my car)

    vacuum the interior

    sprayed Odor Elim around interior
    #40 on the interior
tyres and plastic stuff in the wheel wells with ASD.
rubber trimmings with Endurance High Gloss

    Paint Correction:
    Clayed Meg Red and blue
Front fender and front passanger - wet sand to remove RIDS only (didnt wanna mess with OP)
Compound and polished via the almighty Dewalt 849 and Makita 9227
liquids were M105, M83, M80 with corresponding pads

LSP was M21 2.0 (love this stuff!!)

    Maintenance was M135

    Here some pics

    Before

Sorry didnt took lots of before pics

    After:

    yes, there alot of OP...

The paint correction is NOTHING NEAR TO PERFECT. Still has RIDS, swirls and watermarks. But its much better than before. So there you go. Enjoy and thanks for viewing!

    Cheers,

    TimG
    ps:
I been using Megs products for years and will continue to use them eventhough its quite hard to get them at my side of the country.
Even my parents goes to my hse looking for Megs ;cleaning stuff (APC..) and some leather c & c for their house (sheesh)..they loving it! And I be stocking up again (in gallons!)

Brilliant that looks some good work, didnt think it was metallic in the befores, so WOW! i am impressed, as for deep RIDS its probably safe to accept them and try and reduce and hide them than go to far, it gotta be the shiniest truck on your street!

Nice job! I'm going out on a limb an saying that is a Tacoma. Tundra's are usually larger. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe so. We dont have Tundras here. Only pee wee tacoma - might aka VIGO. Tundras are bigger and more grunt underneat (v6/v8)
