  • Accord washed and waxed after nasty winter

Well, it's been a long winter here in Wisconsin. I've been waiting so long to get my wife's Accord cleaned up. Today was 60 degF and sunny so it was really nice to be outside. The car was disgusting from all of the salt and sand that has been (and still is) on the roads.

    Process:
    - NXT wash using 2 bucket method & Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt
    - APC+ on the wheels and tires with Meguiar's brushes
    - Dried using Water Blade and then Water Magnet to finish.
    - ASD applied to tires & wheel wells
    - Detailer glass cleaner and microfiber used to clean all windows
    - Exhaust tips polished with Metal Polysh

Surprisingly, underneath all of the grime, the car wasn't too bad. It's still pretty smooth and scratch free from the polish last fall. It will get a good wash/clay/polish/wax in the near future, but I couldn't stand to look at it like this anymore. The car got washed a few times during winter at the gas station car wash. I don't really like going to those so I keep that to a minimum.

Very nice clean up! My car looked the same just a little while back from all of the rain and dirt.

Living in Wisconsin, I know what your talking about. The two cars I worked on didn't seem to fair so well under the dirt. Plenty of rail dust to get off, which took a long time.

Nice man! You should check out www.6thgenaccord.com if you ever need info on that model Accord. Be it for general maintenance or if you decide to modify it at all.

(My girlfriend has the same model Accord, just an '02 coupe, that's why I'm mentioning it haha)

Great job on the detail though! Made the car looks brand new all over again.

I can't edit my original post now but I forgot to list that I used NXT tech wax.
