Well the wifes freelander has been needing a top up for a few weeks after her little jaunt to the north of the country and the seaside. So since she is on holiday on cyprus i had chance to give her car the once over, but the weather had other ideas.
Day 1:
Started on the alloys using APC 4:1 in a pump up spraying to cover the inside of the arches and the wheels. Went round of four corners doing this and leaving it to get chance to break down the brake dust (these freelanders do seem to dust up really quickly). Anyway proceed to the fill a bucket with a strong mix of shampoo and wash the wheels using a combination of wash mitt and brushes.

After:

Next up was to foam the car so out with the karcher and the foam attachment, filled with 7ml of elite snow foam and 7ml of shampoo.

During:

This was then rinsed down after dwelling using the vario lance going from bottom to top. Then out with the two buckets and the TBM was used to wash the car using AG Bodywork Shampoo and a B&Q grout sponge. Megs detailing brushes and swabs were used to get into the tricky areas around the lettering etc. After this rinsed the car down with a lose hose to sheet off as much water as possible before drying.
No it was at this point the weather decided i had done enough for the day and decided to start raining, harder and harder and harder. So the tools used on day 1 were as follows:
Day 2:
So up earlier and i was confronted by a strange bright yellowy orangy things in the sky that seemed to emit some form of heat stopped the rain and wind. First job was to go round the car using LT and a miracle dryer to dry out the car. After this i notcied the lower parts of all door panels really needed to be clayed. So out with some Sonus Green and the LT to clay them and removed all the spot (sorry no pix ).
Next was to go over the car with Lime Prime as this wasnt going to be a full machine job just a make it look nice job. After applying LP on the bonnet I found it an absolute pig to buff off even though i applied it very thing and it seems to have left marks behind, although these were removed with some LT.
Switched over to using some HDC that james(autofinesse) gave me and this was used panel by panel with no problems at all.
After a chat with DaveKG the previous evening on the LSP it was now time to start, the car was covered in Megs Show Car Glaze and then double buffed to removed. This really left the car with a high wet looking deep gloss and i kept looking over my shoulder now to make sure that big bright thing was still in the sky, as i didnt want any rain yet. Next up was the chosen wax and thanks to a local member he let me have his pot of SwissVax Saphir so that was applied using a foam applicator. This was the first time i had used Saphir and i found it so ease to go on and very pleasant peachy smell.
Whilst the wax cured it was then on to tify up all of the inside (sorry no pix). After the inside were done all the exterior trim and rubber were dressed using CG New Look Trim Gel. Whilst going round i noticed the exhaust looked terrible so out with some Belgon Alu first and then followed this up with Meg NXT Metal Polish.
Before:

After:

The final step was to buff the wax with a Meg Super Shine MF and then followed this up with a super soft PoorBoys UMT MF. All in all the car looks stunning now in the sunlight and just hope the wife is pleased it looks like she has a brand new vehicle.
