  • G35 Black Detail with pics

Hi everyone. This past Sunday I had a chance to work on a black G35. I've read before how soft this paint was. Well, not in this case. The paint on this car had to be one of the hardest I've worked on. Pretty close to the Corvette paint believe it or not. I'm a little bummed that I couldn't take more after pics since it got dark pretty quick. Not to mention my rotory stopped working when I had the hood & front bumber left to do. The cord wasn't making good contact so I had to take it in for repair yesterday. Plenty of before pics.
The owner said he started waxing it and simply gave up half way through. I later noticed when I opened the trunk a bottle of Turtle wax polishing compound. Hmmmm? On with the before pics.

Clearcoat failure?? Nope, just left over polishing compound

So now I begin to soap the car up to loosen any dirt up

Now that the paint is clean & free from any dry polishing compound I can see how many swirls & hazing there is on the paint

There was a scratch on the paint that seemed like someone tried rubbing it out with an abrasive resulting in this haze

    Nice work Jesse!

Man, that guy was seriously about to mess up that car. Good thing you were able to save the day.

            Nice job, car looks great!

It looks as if whomever tried to distroy it with that rubbing compound...

              Awesome job!

You have any trouble getting the compound he left behind off the plastics?

Did you APC the engine? What is your "regular car wash soap"?

Nice work Jesse. The Yukon is still my favorite.

Thanks Matt. I used a diluted de-greaser. The regular car wash soap is from a local detail supply shop I go to. Since I was going to polish & wax the car I found no need to use my gold class soap.

Yup, all that compound was left on the car. I finished off the hood & bumper with the PC. Since he wants me to polish up his car again in about 2 months I will then hit the hood & front bumper with the rotory.

                            Hi,
I am facing the sameproblem with my 2000 corolla black. I applied turtlewax polishing compound to remove the oxidation. But it created more white marks.
I am planning to wash it with normal car soap would that suffice ?Could you please help me.you have specific instructions for me ?
