  • Finally Cleaned My Alloys

After recently receiving a Wheel Detailing Brush decided that I couldn’t leave my alloys filthy no longer (uni's getting demanding and have little time for looking after the car). The car was cleaned just before its recent service (just so they would feel there was no need to wash it). It has done about 600 miles since its last wash and due to a lack of rain was looking ok.

    Before:

A bucket of Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner + NXT Car Wash Mix (seem to make drying the car much easier), for the wheels I also had Hot Rims All wheel cleaner and the Wheel Detail Brush.

    Rinse

Spray the Alloy Wheel Cleaner On and Waited a few seconds:

    Afters:

For the first time with the detail brush I found it very easy to use and a real time saver. I will be able to do away with getting the trolley jack out so much now. The wheels were waxed afterwards to ensure some protection.
    Thanx for reading,
    Christian

Good work man! What kind of wheel detail brush is that? When Meguiar's discontinued theirs, I bought up a few and I'm down to my last two now. They could last me quite some time.... just wondering for future reference. Yours looks very much like the one Meg's used to make.

That's an EZ Detail Wheel brush, I have one too, they work great but they are rather pricey.

              Looks good...love that product!!

Put a coat or two of wax on them so that the brake dust comes off fraster, you'll thank yourself you did!!

                  Re: Finally Cleaned My Alloys

Yeah you got its the EZ Detail Brush, I got it through a group buy (so was cheaper than usual) on the forum detailingworld (.co.uk) and was ÂŁ15 inc P+P which i will convert as ÂŁ probably wont mean much to you, just over $29. It came from a sponsor of the forum motorgeek (.co.uk) international shipping requires a quote.

Have Megs discontinued it im sure we have it on the UK site was it the Ultra-Safe Wheel Spoke Brush as its still sold here, how odd.

I am currently reviewing for one of the megs UK forum moderators to see how it gets on and it flexi spine means you can clean the inner lip of the wheel to.

Obviously links to websites are not allowed but properautocare (.com) looked cheap, and autogeek (.net)

                    Re: Finally Cleaned My Alloys

Autogeek sells them, but they are like 23 bucks each or something. I had orgionally ordered two other different wheel brushes and they were out of stock, so they sent me one of these instead. It is expensive but probably the nicest wheel brush I've owned.

Does that wheel brush last as long or longer then the one from Meguiars? The alloys look great. I agree put a coat of wax on them. It helps in future cleanups.

I cant answer that just yet, I haven't had mine that long and have only used it twice, but I will say it's a nicer constructed brush, very flexable and soft too.

It appears he has already taken care of the waxing.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I still have one more Meguiar's wheel brush in stock, but I would like to buy EZ brush in the future.

its a real time saver thats for sure. I put a coat of NXT All Metal Polysh on i take it will last a bit longer that GC Liquid Wax and protect a bit better too?
