Doug's a good friend of mine, and a few months ago he gave me FOR FREE, a GT rear swaybar and Maximum Motorsports subframe connectors. So today I decided to pay him back by giving teh GT a full detail.
Engine bay was cleaned with Simple Green, and a bucket of soapy water. Then dressed with Turtle Wax F21 tire foam/protectant.
Wheels were cleaned with Meguiars Gold Class soap and a rag, inside and out, then dried with an absorber. The face of the rims were waxed with Meguiars NXT 2.0, and the chrome lip of the rims were polished with Mothers Chrome Polish.
Tires were scrubbed, and treated with Meguiars "Hot Shine" tire shine. Inner fenderwells were also scrubbed and coated with an off-brand spray tire shine I have.
Interior was vacuumed, floormats got a little touch of Meguiars Quik-Out carpet cleaner. Plastics were treated with Meguiars Quik-detail interior spray. The leather seats had already been treated by him so I didn't touch them. Windows were also already cleaned.
Exterior was washed with a microfiber mitt using Gold Class car wash. Dried with an absorber.
Paint was then clayed using the Meguiars "Smooth Surface" claybar.
Paint then got a coat of Meguiars Color-X (paint cleaner and polish).
Finally the paint was given a coat of Meguiars NXT 2.0 liquid wax.
The black plastic side mirrors, windshield cowl, and chin spoiler all got treated to Mothers Back-to-black.
Needless to say.. the car looks much better now!
