Well my well decorated truck paid off again. This new client actually saw my truck about 2 months ago and had been to busy to give me a call. When he did, I knew of him and I also knew I wanted his business. He owns 5 vehicles as well as two boats. He is a land developer/contractor and is part owner in 3 local subdivisions. This vehicle is his daily driver and I knew that is was my test. Get this one right and more is on the way!!!
Here's the process......
Start Time:
8:00am
Finish Time:
1:30pm
Payment:
300.00USD
Wheels, Tires, and Wells:
(Purple Power Degreaser 2:1 & Meguiar's Wheel Brightener 4
Man the wells and tires were coated in red clay. It took two applications of degreaser and blastings with my pressure washer to get clean. The wheels cleaned up nicely with Wheel Brightener. The tires were seales with Armor All Tire Foam. The wells received a coating as well. The wheels were protected with NXT 2.0.
Engine Bay:
(Purple Power Degreaser 2:1 & Armor All Tire Foam)
Simply degreased the pressure washed. While wet, the tire foam was applied and the hood shut. The engine was started and let run while I washed the exterior. It's really that easy!
The Wash Cycle:
(Chem. Guys Citrus Wash via Foam Gun)
The first foaming was left to sit for about 2-3 minutes then pressure washed. The second foaming was preceded with a hand washing with a white Schmitt. Drying was handled by a Cobra Guzzler.
Paint Compounding:
(Menzerna's SIP via rotary & LC Black CCS Pad)
This combo did quick work of the deeper swirls and minor scratches. The tailgate had some deeper ones but SIP took care of them. I found that this Toyota paint was pretty forgiving which only means there will be more in the paint later for me to correct again!
Paint Polishing:
(Meguiar's #82 Swirl Free Polish via rotary & LC Blue CCS Pad)
There was a few holograms and marring left by SIP so I wanted to remove them and give the paint a nice pop. I simply love #82. So easy to work with and really gloss's the clearcoat nicely. It raises the metallics up nicely as well.
Paint Protection:
(Meguiar's NXT 2.0 via PC and EDGE2K Red Pad)
This product is a joy to use. Easy to apply, easy to remove, and smells great! Looks are comparable to some of the higher end waxes/sealant that I've used.........at a fraction of the cost.
Interior:
The interior was immaculate. Other than the floor protectors (degreased and pressure washed), all that were needed was a vaccuum and wiped down. Then all surfaces were protected with DP's Interior Protecant.
Here's the horrible working conditions that I was introduced too......YEAH RIGHT!

A "slightly" dirty ride. I'm kind of used to it by now here where I live.

Here is the paint's condition after washing. I have seen worse....

The Afters.....

Nothing like swirl free metallics to steal the show!

This is how the engine bay turns out with my above process. No wiping needed!
