Renault Clio 2003 1.2 16v Dynamique
I Decided with the temperature being reasonable high and apparently no rain for a while to have a go giving the wheel arches and wheels a through clean before I get my EZ detail brush. It was a bad start to the day when I snapped the socket on the end of my extendable wheel wrench, but my local garage had clearly let some monkey posing as a mechanic with an air gun but them back on. Luckily it was the only one as didn’t fancy shearing or snapping any wheel bolts.

Befores: Not cleaned since before christimas

Here what was behind the wheel:

Didn’t have anything really specialised for the job in (no power washer/snow foam. So made a mix of Fairy Liquid and Tesco APC) Agitated with a brush and an old sponge for the plastics. It wasn’t a perfect job but greatly improved, it was mid afternoon due to the 1 hour set back of wheel trouble.

On To the Wheels: Tesco APC + Fairy the front ones didn’t come out perfect but can have another go next time.
Before:

Quik Clay on inside made little difference so gave the last of Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner a go which did amazing work (the back of the wheels I don’t think is painted as its not shiny like the face of the alloy, does this mean I will struggle to properly clean them?) I finished them with a coat of Gold Class Liquid Wax outside to in.

The back ones where a much simpler operation

Next on to the car itself it wasn’t to dirty and had recently been polished.

Door Shuts and Boot hinges cleaned with brush and APC Fairy mix, this was to remove the white spray grease Reno put on, then I greased them with a clear spray.

Vacuumed the Interior Plastic still ok from Autoglym Rubber Care Recently:

Engine bay looking ok as well

Washed with Megs GC Shampoo, Dried with Chamios and Microfibre, then Waxed with the PC and Megs GC Liquid Wax and the Sonus SFX3 Polshing Pad. Arches dressed with Car Plan Trim Black. Trim Megs Trim Detailer and used the hair dryer to heat up the trim (think it looks really good and was 6.30pm and kept me warm) Tyres dressed Megs Hot Shine Spray applied with small round headed brush dipped in a paint can top to save time. It was pretty dark at this point 7pm and had worked solidly since 2pm.
A few pictures:

Put it away for the night and took some in the morning:

Oh one last problem no matter how much I tried the Megs Trim detailer wouldn’t take to the rubber surrounding the windscreen ive put in a pic (like a strip on the side nearest to the glass), in some areas it will not stick or absorb any ideas?

Thanx Christian
