Colin, thank you for the tip, I will have to pick up a bottle of that stuff next time I am out, I tried everything I had in my arsenal and nothing would touch it, that would include Super Degreaser at 4:1, MPPC and Power Sol which is a strong solvent. I stumbled across the Goo Gone but it took a lot of rubbing, the heat gun softened the sap up so I could atleast break it down.
Von Lego, I don't want to give Black Wow a bad rap, it's very good stuff although it's too expensive in my book. In that picture, I was playing around with what would work best, the Black Wow is on the left hand section of trim, the right side was Showroom trim restorer, which is a dye, it does tend to streak, and I applied it with a foam brush.
There was a lot of trial and error on this car, I'm not sure it had ever seen wax before and the sap was horrendous. The owner sure was pleased!
That car was definitely in bad condition and you just restored it, brought it back to life, job well done.
Don't want to be rude or bash the post, maybe you could consider on using Hyper Dressing on the wheel wells, they do give an excellent result.[/QUO
I did use Hper Dressing at 1:1 in those when I dressed the tires, they were very shiney afterwards, so it must have been the lighting in the pictures. When I washed it, I spray them with APC 4:1, then use my karcher pressure washer to clean them good, and I follow with Hper Dressing.
