this countach has been with this owner from 3 months old so its his proud and joy

first off got to say sorry for no before pics as i forgot to put the batts on charge over night

so the car was pre soaked with a citrus wash then followed with the extreme foam then rinsed off

after the pre soak the car was washed with the 2 buckets and dryed off with the sonus der wunder towel

all pannels were then checked on how much clear coat and then down loaded to the laptop

then it was time to get the makita out

3m polishing pad with menzerna IP
3m finishing pad with final finish

with the paint work corection done it was time to cleanse the paint to get the paint work ready for the wax

so to cleanse the paint it was time to get the HD cleanse out

for the next stage we thought it has to be the vintage for the wax

and here it is at the show

thanks for taking the time to look

      Re: white countach 5000

      Hi Mike,

Love looking at your work but do keep in mind this is a Meguiar's forum and posting tons of work where you're really not using any Meguiar's products.

      I mean... what's the purpose?

It would be one thing if you did it once or twice, but if this is going to be your new pattern then you might want to take a moment to share with us what the purpose of all these posts on our forum is when you're using other companies products? It just is coming off to me as poor forum netiquette.

      And the answer is?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to even bring this up but your new posting pattern has prompted other's to bring it to my attention, thus the above questions. We all know there's lots of products on the market and any "true" craftsman can use any of them to make paint look good, and while this is an open forum, it's also a focused on the Meguiar's product line, not all the products you keep focusing on. The point being, maybe use a little betterjudgment when showcasing your work.

Love your work but again, if this is going to be your new posting pattern then we're going to ask the question...

      What's your purpose?

      Thanks.

      Mike

Great work dude. I, too, noticed the lack of Megs products in all your threads but I still enjoy looking at the pictures as you seem to work on some really nice cars.

mike i`m very sorry just thought i would post up some of my work thats all.

at the start of 2007 i got a lot of stock from other companys and from now on i wont name other company names as i do respect the meg`s brand, as it was the meg`s brand that helped me progress in detailing when they first came over to the uk

i do use alot of meg`s products and i`ve allways got my last touch sprayer with me at all times

APC is one of the best cleaners out there and is even good at cleaning wheels when they have been waxed, also can be used on leather to

also meg`s #7 is one of my all time fav products that ppl over in the uk forget about

meg`s #16 and 26 are both top wax`s on the mkt

i also have the meg`s #83 #84 and #85 and been known to use these instead of other brands and i`ll keep on getting these products to

over here in the uk alot of ppl have been taken in on the branding of some products and that is what they want on there cars and at the end of the day they are paying for it

once again mike i`m sorry that i`ve not put on the posts when i`ve used a megs product but i do use them and will keep on using them

p.s. i only use meg`s unicutt for wet sanding

            Re: white countach 5000

Thanks for clarifying and your answer makes sense.

Because Meguiar's pays for this forum and the gallery and my salary, etc. I have to look out for their best interest, (of course), so I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a pattern taking place with any kind of agenda.

This wouldn't have been an issue except we've had people posting with agendas in the past and of course we've all seen it on other forums, thus our radar screen is pretty sensitive.

            Thanks for clarifying.

We agree, we love to look at cool cars especially when a talented detailer has rescured them from swirl city.

                  Re: white countach 5000

As Mike already mentioned - you don't use Meguiar's products. It may be nice to see exotics but what I'm seeing is more of a promotion of your business, rather than the demonstration of how Meguiar's products are used on these exotics.

I recall seeing a show on TV a few years ago about you and your shop. It occurred to me it was you, when I noticed the paint thickness gauge in your hands along with the use of the word citrus, and foam. I recall hearing you purchased one of the single most expensive tubs of Carnuba Wax and how your rate of labor is (or is close to) one of the highest in the industry.

Your efforts aren't wasted of course your work is good and you make a great living off of your reputation no doubt - as we see you are never short on exotic customers.

Are you trying to show us that your products are better than Meguiar's? Or that you are too good for Meguiar's products? I feel kind of insulted because I did think your work went above and beyond - but then I found this forum where everyones work is incredible and the results are definitly as impressive.

I challenge you to use all Meguiar's products on a detail job and tell the customer, I'd bet a lot that they would still pay your price and be equally as satisfied with the results.

Come on.. You just posted your business website address clearly promoting yourself yet again, and then tried to rub in our face what your next clients will be (the zonda and konissegg.)

Theres an old expression I think you need to hear. "Swallow your pride before you choke on it."

No offense to you, but come on.

Hey X-Mike...beings that we are all car nuts and I personally LOVE exotics, why not just post the pics of the cars you detail and not the process (unless it's Megs of course) and we'll all be happy!!!!!

Yeap I knew this was going to happen.

Like lately I've seen post after post after post I don't if it was the same person but like posting exotic cars and non of the work was done with Meguiar's. I think this has never happened and I didn't say anything because but I thought that if he wanted to post his "detail work" without regarding the products used I bet there is a lot of forums about detailing with no brand attachment.

I noticed this also this afternoon when I was commenting on his work. But I guess I am still in the holiday spirit as I did not say a thing. I thought it was odd that He would list his process. All that was Meguiars was the sandpaper. Well, thanks for taking care of the problem guys. Now we resume oohing and aahing over Meguiar product details. lol
