Rx-7 with an LS1

I got to detail this car last saturday, this thing was a beast. The guy said its a 9.8 second car on a 75 shot. He is going for the 150 shot now. He said he has traction problems because the tires are still too narrow. Its a 1993 Rx-7 with an LS1 conversion and a 6 speed tranny. The car was in pretty good shape to being with, just some minor swirls. I want it.

Sadly thats my driveway. Its actually not as dusty as it looks, then again everything in Oklahoma is dusty.........

Sorry, either way its a bummer but I suppose its not be to big of an issue. You really don't want to drop any of your detailing towels! Do you wash your vehicles in the grass?

Yes, I wash the car in the grass, then pull it on to the driveway and rise off the tires very lightly. The driveway becomes a huge puddle if I don't. Don't worry about the towels! All the drying and detailing is done in the garage where its cool and clean!

Wow thats one of my dream cars. All the FD3S fun without any rotary mess! All it needs is 2 sequential turbos.

Because FD's need a sequential turbo system! That car was so far ahead of it's time. Who knew you could be getting that much power out of a Stock 1.3L (around 280). The changes from the FC-> FD were huge. the most important being 2 sequential Hitachi turbos. Both the Supra and the RX-7 went from parallel turbos sequential ones in 1993. just imagine how fast that car would be if the car had room for a Garrett. I think the car could easily do low 9's, maybe even 8's if he had slicks.

Uh, it has an LS1 in it now, not the stock 1.3L rotary.

LS1 > 13B

5-7 PSI on an LS1 = 400-600 rwhp.
You can never have too much power, just too little traction.
I wanted to build a LS1Z but it is quite costly! I think it was almost $30,000 to put a crate LS1 and rebuild the tranny to handle the additional power.
