  • Me vs. the Porsche

I just completed a transformation on my dads car. It has been outside for a few months and rarely washed and never waxed or polished. Here is what i was able to do with this car. Also these pics were taken with a 5$ camera. so needless to say they arent the best quality.

I washed with some old eagle 1 car wash i had lying around, i didnt want to use my GC(thats for my ride!!). then i used DC1. i started to clay but i dropped it, it was ok, it was used anyway. then DC2 followed by nxt. i sprayed on some nxt tire shine, put on some rainx on the windows. Then i did the inside with QID, and GC leather/conditioner goop. I took 7 hours, which is crazy because usually when i do my car it takes like 5.

How could you leave a Porsche outside for a few months? Especially a 996 C4 Cabrio... Anyways, it looks really nice! Why don't you drive it more often and why don't you garage it?

Anyways, I just got back from London. Man, those cars are dirty - even the RR Phantoms and Conti GT's I saw a filthy and dented 996 - I almost shed a tear. So, my question is (for those who live in or around London), is it difficult to wash or is it just not a common practice???

I must say though, riding in a taxi is nothing like riding a taxi over in the US...

            Nicely done!

But seriously, I'd use the GC shampoo on this ride. Why? Well, it's your dad's car and I'm sure he's a done a few nice things for you in your life and, c'mon dude, it's a Carrera 4!!

GREAT JOB ON THE PORSCHE! Seriously, I had to 'yell', I love the reflection on that thing.

There's nothing like reading this thread at work for my GM to walk by and out of my two screens, picks up the ONE word on my screen. Anyway, after a quick awkward moment and a good save by me, I now have another customer lined up .
