  • New Member, Pics of my Cars.

Hey all, I'm new here obviously but I have been in the car world all my life. Here is my current collection. I have been a Meguiars fan for as long as I can remember and they have gained a customer for life. I am getting my PC7424 delivered tomorrow and I can't wait to get to work with it. My Celica is almost where I want it as far as the paint goes... very few swirl marks and a very smooth glossy finish. The Blue WRX came with factory installed swirl marks that were suprisingly bad. The whole car is filled with them. I plan on starting out with some #82 and go from there with a few coats of NXT with the PC. The black WRX (my girlfriends) paint is quite a bit better but still has some swirls that need to get out. The pics of it are after a fresh coat of NXT that made the paint look outstanding. Well, Thats all for now, I'm sure I'll be around.

    Decent shine for silver.

Excuse the paint job on the side skirts

NXT works great on the black.

Great pic of the gold flake in the paint...

nice looking rides! i especially love the first picture of your celica, really nice silver!

you might want to try #80 Speed Glaze with a polishing pad for removing the swirls. it worked pretty well for me on my mom's Altima. follow that up with NXT, two coat, 12 hours between each coat, and bling-bling! i found this combo to be especially nice on metallic paint jobs, really clean and clear to let the metallics shine through.

and autopia.org has a few WRX owners that might have good tips too. i hope i don't get in trouble for suggesting it.

btw, who's faster, your WRX or your gf's WRX?

Thanks for the compliments. I've put plenty of time into these cars and I plan on keeping them nice for a very long time.

I don't really consider myself "into" the import scene. I like my japanese cars, but I don't street race and I don't usually go to huge car meets on the weekends. I'm 26 and the scene just keeps getting younger and younger and I'm usually annoyed by what goes on at the huge meets.

As far as the swirl marks on the cars go, I will take yoru advice and start with either #80 or #82 and only go to #83 if needed. I haven't decided what is better to do before waxing... 80/81/82/20... everyone seems to have their own opinion on what is the best. I figure I'll try a few different ways and see what I like best.

I have an '83 Porsche that I plan on doing and a 1999 Accord, both black, that I can do first to practice. I also told my dad I would do his 2003 Green Saturn SC1. So I should be getting pretty good by the time I get to my cars. I can't wait.
