    Hi all

I got my new car 3 weeks back and wanted to share the results with you all. I didn't allow the dealer to prep the car in any way because of my last experience with the same model car but even worse in that it was a black one.

I washed and dried the car first. Then I examined the paintwork and some parts of the car needed claying so I did the whole thing. I then applied #81 with a PC, let it haze and then removed the first time and let it skin again and went over it again with a MF towel.

Next I applied NXT, which I had also applied to a second car and it is still holding up after 2 months but needs a new coat soon. I let it sit for 15 mins and removed and after this let it cure overnight.

I then applied P21S wax and after a few hours #16 as a topper. I cleaned the inside and applied NXT Tech Protect on the dash and rubber seals. Sprayed some Engine Kote to the engine compartment and wheel wells. Next was a coat of wax on the alloys and Hot Shine tire dressing. Here are the final pics. Hope you like the effort.

Very nice. Are they still using New Formula Red for 04? Thats the color on my car too . I would love to have a S myself. How's the 04 compare to your previous one? I've heard the 2.2 has a good bit more torque.

Thanks everyone for the very kind words. I too love this car, it is just awesome. I had an 02 car in black and that looked but only when clean and being black that usually didn't last too long.

Evo8: The wing is from the dealer and available for the 04 onwards. They still do the older one which sits flush with the boot and one which I had on my last car.

Rick: Yup that is the 04 and in the UK we call that color Ascari Red which is the same as NFR. We also don't have the 2.3 engine and keep the 2.0 engine with the great 9000 red line. I don't want Honda to change it.

This car feels a bit more sure of the backend compared to the 02. The grip levels are the same but the older one seemed to be a bit more nervous on bumpy roads and it didn't insipre confidence while driving at speed on anything but glass like smooth surfaces. That doesn't mean that it would let go because I took it on track days and never had a problem. However this new one seems more settled than that and the same grip level means you have confidence to push it harder.

By the way, all of this has been made possible because of the great support I have got from members and two of whom I want to mention, 2Hotford and Mike the man. Thanks guys for the info and directions on using the products well.

As usual, I like nicely detailed UK cars with typical British background scenery. Rahula, your 04 plate sounds like a computer EXEcutable file .

Huh, I didn't know that. They switched the US to the 2.2 liter with only a 8K red line . A friend has a 02 Spa Yellow Pearl one which has me wanting one myself. They sure are a fun toy.
