Hey guys,

I would just like to share with everyone the results that I achieved on this car. the vehicle belongs to a friend of mine who asked me to detail it for him. He is car crazy like everone else here, so the paint was in very good shape but, it had some swirl marks and spiderwebs. The process we used was to wash with Gold Class Wash, evaluated the paint and it was good to go as is, we then used speed glaze with the pc set to 4, lastly we used 2 coats of NXT. Any comments would be appreciated. By the way this was my second time using the pc if that says anything. Here are a few pics.







If you can not tell, it was a very cloudy day in Jersey
Mother Nature was threatening more severe rain/flooding.

What pad did you use with the glaze?

with the speed glaze i used the 8006 polishing pad

You works looks great! It appears, (no pun intended), as though you have the PC Polishing procedure down pretty well. The #80 Speed Glaze is an awesome product for cars with only light swirls and scratches.

I fixed the code in two of your pictures, remember when you copy and paste the URL Address into the IMG window to either paste over the default http:// that automatically is in the window or delete ti before you paste.

(I made this same mistake numerous times till I figured it out)

Also, hit the Enter key after your last word in a sentence twice, which will force your picture under your text with at least one space for good formatting.

thanks for the complements mike. speed glaze is an awesome product. i did tons of reading here before i made the move to a pc. so i know to work small areas at a time and to let the machine do the work. thanks for fixing the pics i will keep this in mind for next time.

Thanks for posting those pics. I always wanted to see how Speed Glaze looked on a TA. I had a black 'O1 WS6. The only reason I traded it was they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse on an '04 GTO.

Great job! I definitely have to get some #80 Speed Glaze. I can get that locally even here in the People's Republic of Indiana.

I'm thinking that the #80 might be a better choice for my new car than the #83. The only severe scratch I have is on my front bumper that happened during transport from Australia, and that will require repainting. I can take advantage of the paintable polymer in #80.

When using the #80 with a PC, you say that you let the machine do the work. By that do you mean you don't press down real hard with the PC? That tells me the technique is different than with #83. When I used #83 I ran the PC wide open at 6 on the speed dial and pressed down very hard on the PC. It actually generated some heat and removed some bad scratches on a dark bronzemist metallic GTP.

hey ramairv1,
when i was using the 80 speed glaze i was using light to moderate pressure. speed glaze is way less aggressive comared to dacp so lots of pressure and high pc speeds are not really needed. i was using a pc speed of 4 to 4 1/2and working the product till allmost dry. i did the entire car then took it off with a meguiar's 100% cotton towel. in hindsight if i had dacp i would have used it because their are still some faint swirls that speed glaze did not take out. but i am new to detailing with the pc and i have newer vehicles with very lite swirls that speed glaze took right out.

#80 would probably be a better choice for my car as well, I have light swirling but it's noticeable for sure in the light

if the car is new or older with very good paint with little to no swirls than speed glaze will do the trick.

hey vandelete,

i did not use it because i did not have it. plus it was recommended to me by two other members to help cut out #9 and #7 so that i have only one step instead of 2.
