  • Used G-100 for the first time!!

Alright guys and gals. I ordered kit #2 from ADS a couple of weeks ago. Well, it's been sitting at my house now for nearly a week and a half. All the holiday company has left and I was finally able to go play. I only did a small section of the hood on my 2006 Crown Vic Police Interceptor because the sun was setting. The car is less than a year old and only had a few minor swirls and a few surface imperfections. I washed, clayed with Meguiar's clay bar and then used M80 on an 8006 pad. Took that off with a microfiber towel and inspected. M80 removed all swirls and imperfections. Topped with NXT and removed with microfiber bonnet over a 7006 pad. All pictures are reflection shots. Again, all of these are REFLECTION shots. I love my G100.

Looks really good, any larger pics?
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

Yeah the larger pics are amazing. Great job. Do you have any full body shots?

I don't have any full body shots because I only did an 18" x 18" spot on the hood. This was my first time using the G100 and just had to try it out. My real test car will be my father's 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. It is oxidized and swirled. I don't think he has washed it in over 2 years. I just couldn't wait for him to bring it to me (that's next week). I had to play with the G100 so the patrol car was the guinnea pig.

Looks great! Post some full shots once you are done. I bet you will never go back to hand application again!

Yeah, I'm hooked. I've always had one of those crappy "wax applicators" that you pay $10 for at Wal-Mart. It shakes your hand enough that you think it's better than nothing. I've been longing for a real polisher and am satisfied that I've achieved that. The kicker was my father is going to pay me $200 to detail his Grand Prix. So the kit from ADS ended up costing me about $40 out of my own pocket. Not too bad, huh?

I'm not sure if I'm going to spend the time on the patrol car. Seems almost like wasted time getting all the swirls out and stuff considering the abuse the car takes daily. I'd hate to get it looking flawless only to hit the muddy median the next day at 85 mph. I spend a lot of time in the median and on the unpaved shoulders. Given the work schedule, there are times where the patrol car will go weeks without getting washed. And I refuse to take it through the automated car washes in town even though most of them give us free washes. But I will be certain to post pics of the Grand Prix when I'm finished. That should take place in a couple of weeks.

One of my friends was over today and said I probably made a mistake by polishing and waxing the hood. He said it looked so glossy that when the sun hits it, it will probably blind my while I'm driving down the road. I think he might have a good point there...
