Hello Everyone, Well I have just completed my first real detail.
I have a very good friend who has helped me out a lot over the years and I have never really been able to show him how much I appreciate his friendship and the help he has given me.
So I decided the only way I could show him is to detail his car for him. He was delighted and wanted to help. The car has not been looked after for about 3 years and had a lot of stains from water as well scratches, some oxidization etc. The exterior trim was very badly faded and oxidized and a grey instead of black. The interior was a mess as well.
Anyway after doing it all by hand and 28 hours (combined) later we finally finished it.
My friend was as happy as a pig in poop
He could not believe the difference it made to his car and it made me feel good knowing that I have made him happy and was able to do something for him for a change
. Oh and Meg's have another customer
Anyway I wanted to share with others here.
First washed it with NXT Wash, I clayed the whole car, then we went over every inch with ScratchX, let me tell you that is a real killer on the hands and arms.
Next we used DC Paint Cleaner (just to be sure
) after that we applied ColorX and finished with two coats of Gold Class Wax. The trim was done using Gold Class Trim Detailer and Hotshine for the tyres. The interior trim was done with Gold Class Dash and Trim Foam and the seats were done with Meg's Heavy Duty Carpet Cleaner.
Before
You can notice some staining on the hood. This is from a leaky rusty carport roof.

After removing the stains with ScratchX

More Before Shots...

And here is the end result....

I am as pleased as punch with the results. The hard work payed off.
