  • Another clean window...

    Hey gang,

I haven't been online in the last couple of days since I was at a friend's house this weekend. He lives near the coast of Mississippi and recently moved a little north due to the hurricane last year. His "beater" of a car had some serious water spots on all his windows. The salt water air and hard city water really played havoc on the windows. Driving at night it looked like you were driving in a constant fog because the windows were so bad. He tried some stuff that Wal-Mart sells to remove it, but it didn't work. I told him I had the stuff to remove it without any doubt. I just did the front two windows and windshield because of the failing light. No need to post the other pictures since they all turned out the same. Here is the Meguiar's "Magic Window Kit" in action again.

Looks like his paint could use some Meguiar's magic as well lol.

Used glass cleaner to just clean off the windows before I started. I used #4 Heavy Cut Cleaner, Buff Shine 3" wool cutting pad and 3/8 drill Velcro backing plate.

His paint is peeling off. Some GM cars and trucks were notorious for this. The primer is still there. It's like the base coat didn't stick to the primer. He's not worried about the paint since this car is a daily commuter and he used it from time to time to storm chase. He just wanted his windows spot free so he could see again. LOL His wife has a 2002 Toyota Camry that he wants detailed, but I will have to do that another time. Since he lives 4+ hours away, that's a pretty long commute for a free detail. LOL I explained to his wife that a good wax job on her car will keep it shiny and easier to keep clean. The bugs down there are pretty bad during the summer.

Thanks for the comments. I can honestly say a picture is worth a thousand words. With a little and time, you can make any windows shine with that stuff.
