I have friend with roughly the same color Mitsubishi Galant that is even worse then your friends car. I taped off an area and buffed it with a rotary. The results where huge, but for some reason the camera doesn't capture that color as well.
My point is I'm sure the results are much more impressive then your pictures show!!!!!!!!!
