1986 Corvette convertible that had HEAVY oxidation on the decklid (bubbling oxidation). The owner contacted me via PM and after a couple trips to my house, we finally got the finish to both of our likings.
Total process between the two trips consisted of...
wetsanding the rough areas with 2000 grit...
Up to five passes of Meguiars #84 via rotary @ 1700-1200 rpm
Up to three passes of Meguiars #83 DACP via rotary @ 1500-1000 rpm
Meguiars #16
Also the car was detailed orginally washed with Meguiars NXT wash and sealed with Meguiars #21 sealent.
Some befores', it is hard to detect the oxidation in some of the picture.
If you look at the reflection in garage, it almost looks like the clouds continue in. Check out the area to the front of the area in front of the gas cap. Its perfectly square because I tapped the area to test a section, but it cloudy and no reflection. Also you can see some of the oxidation on the gas cap. Again it was MUCH worse then the picture shows.

Here is better picture. You can see how the reflections just die halfway up the decklid. (the garage door just disappears)

Again you have to look close to see the oxidation, but you can see some of towards the top of the car in the picture..

Afters, direct sun shot

All finished up...

One of the best parts of detailing is getting to meet people. Bruce is a cool guy who hung around both times. He's an awesome person and it was more fun than it was work.
