  • 92 300TD quickfix

washed with NXT Car Wash Soap
    Clayed
#66 topped with NXT wax, all done with DA
Used NXT glass cleaner on windows.
NXT Insane Tire Spray on Tires.
    Water based dressing on trim.

Not bad for an old car with almost 300 000 miles on the road?

    Nice reflection?

    Not the best pics...

This was also my first time using the G100, but I'm satiesfied with the result.

    looks good!

have you seen the thing about 300e's on Fifth gear? I think the one they had was a gas powered one but, the same build quality applies i guess!

      Very nice work!

      Just a couple of questions:

      1. Did you find it hard to apply #66 with the DA? Any tips?

      2. Did you use #66 by choice, or was it the only product you had?

      Thanks,

        1. No ,it was nice to work in with the DA. Just let the DA do the work

2: I did choose to use #66 becouse this is a old daily driver. This is not a showcar result, but it will do for a daily driven old beater. I also have #80 and #83. But for this car I thought I should give #66 a try. And I think that #66 is a great product for an quickfix

I will chime in here as well - as #66 is one of daily products.

I LOVE #66, it does exactly what it was designed to do - moderate cleaning and protection. Apart from some of my "top-end" clients, I have NEVER had a single client not be blown away by #66 topped with either #21 or NXT.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again - #66 is the most underrated product Meguiar's has.

I believe if they re-named and re-packaged the stuff and marketed it heavily as a one-step cleaner-polish-wax it would TAKE OFF.

People think ColorX is great, and I think with the right user and a DA, #66 would AMAZE most people.

Rant over, sorry to somewhat hijack your thread bud - NICE JOB on the Merc though!!!

            Looks good, nice work!

I to agree on the #66, great product priced right and it works! Like N.E.W.car said a new name for the product would really help, before I discovered it I thought it was a spray detailer/spray wax of some sort and never looked into it.... but some members of MOL pointed me that way and we now use it frequently at work.

I didn't see a thing about a 500e but there was a thing talking about w124's and their reliability. I believe it showed a wagon and abused it like no other, and it withheld all the abuse!!! I love my 300e. If you really want to see the video, just ask me and I'll find the video that somebody uploaded.

About 2 weeks ago this good old beater was hit by a car at the highway.

It was only me and my girl in the car and we did manage ok, I only splintered a bone in the leg. (fibula for those who understand latin)

well this here is some pics taken at the crash scene.

some pics taken the day after at the salvage yard:

Notice the driveshaft under the drivers door

Still some reflection on the backdoor

I have ordered a new car, Can't wait to get my New (used) BMW wagon !

And always remember your seat belt, It saved my life together with the airbags.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Its a shame you were hurt. The wagon was just entering the prime of her life. Hope your leg is healing. Good luck with the beamer wagon.

I'm not sure if we can manage to get Norwegian plates on it before the weekend. But I have prepared my pc, and my supplyes for it's arrival
