    Outline of processes...

Washed using Meguiars Hyperwash dilluated 400:1/two bucket method
Clayed using Meguiars Detailer Clay Mild and Last Touch Detailer Spray
    Dried with Absorber
1 coat of Meguiars #7 Showcar Glaze polish by hand
2 coats of Meguiars #21 Synethtic Sealent
Exterior trim dressed with Meguiars Exterior Trim Detailer
Wheels cleaned with Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner (3 times)
Wheels polished with #80 Speed Glaze by hand
Wheels sealed with Meguiars #21 Synethic Sealent
Tires dressed with Meguiars Hot Rims
    Top protected with Raggtopp
Windows cleaned with NXT Windown Cleaner
Chrome, Exhaust, and Trim polished with NXT All Metal Poylsh
Wheelwells dressed with Meguiars Hyperdressing, cut 3:1

The car was dropped off at about 6:30 Am, it was still dark and cool (high 70's)

Even though it was still dark, the first thing that popped out at me was the rims. They needed alittle work, and one thing I have learned is that if you take your clients worse part and make it thier best, you will always make them happy.

This after one application of All Wheel Cleaner, which was scrubbed using a rim brush. All in all, the front wheels took three appliacations plus I washed them when I washed the car, the back wheels only needed two.

And the cleaned version of the passanger side (after 3 cleanings)...

Next up was the driver side, before...

    after..

Then I polished each rim with Meguiars #80 with a terrycloth, before topping with #21. Now it was time to wash the car, as the sun was starting to break. Nothing special about the wash. I used the two bucket method with two seperate wash mitts. Here she is still wet after being rinised off...

Next I clayed using Last Touh Detail spray as lube and Meguiars blue Detailer Mild clay. Here it is, fresh out of the wrapper...

The car was stored inside for a majority of its life, and really wasn't too bad for never being clayed. Here is the clay after about 1/4 of the hood, you can see it is picking up contamination.

After claying the car, I finised it off using the sheet method then dried the car with an Absorber. I then used a foam applicator and proceeded to polish the paint using Meguiars #7 Showcar Glaze. After I was done, I applied 2 coats of Meguiars #21 Synethic sealent with the PC using a Meguiars 7006 foam pad. I allowed the sealent to set for about 15 minutes before wiping clean. Then I allowed it to cure for about an hour before applying the second coat in the same manner as the first.

Here is the second coat set up on the paint.

As the first coat cured and when the second was setting up, I decied to tackle some other aspects of the detail. First was to protect the top with RaggTop protectant. Then I washed the windows inside and out using NXT Window cleaner and a microfiber.

The headlights where polished using PlastiX and a terrycloth for a mild improvement. I think sandpaper and rotary would be needed to restore optical clarity to 100%. The chrome and brightwork including the exhaust was polished with NXT All Metal Polysh.

Here is a before of the exhaust...

    After the Polysh...

I then removed to the rear plate to get at some the plastic trim that had been faded from the Florida sun.

Here is the back plate fasica. You can see the orginal color where the plate sits, but either side is gray and faded...

Then I cleaned using Meguiars #39 heavy duty reconditioner and applied Meguiars Exterior Trim Detailer. My goal wasn't simply to mask the oxidation but to remove it and boost the appearance a level above stock. The right side is done, the left is a before.

And the full after... I personally think the improvement is huge, and while its not the most noticable thing to the untrained eye, it is what seperates detailing from car washing.

I wiped clean the second coat of sealent and pulled the car outside to check my work (and take some photos).

Here it is in the garage, which give a true indication of its appearance and the sun light can wash out lighter colored cars. Looks amazingly wet for a light blue car.

I did use Plastx. I think they are gonna need a wetsand and a rotary buff.
