Alright. This car is easily 17 years old. Its well maintained mechanically and easily pulls 200kW (270HP) at the wheels thanks to a high-flow turbo, delta-fin intercooler and 3-in turbo-back exhaust. Not bad for a 2L-6.
But the paint was terrible. And it was hard. I started by marking out the trouble spots with some Cleaner Wax. You can see the swirls here.

These were all over the car, although the camera hasn't picked them up properly.
Anyway, this is one of the bonnet scratches pre-work:
And post work (its still there):
To give you an indication to the hardness of the paint, I did a dozen passes with my trusty Scratch X on the above scratch (six on one half, six on the other half).
Three passes were low-pressure, lots of passion until it went clear, three were very high pressure (buckling the bonnet) lots and lots of passion.
And after that, the scratch is only half gone, the swirls are still in the paint, and I haven't added any micromarring!
Still waiting for that machine... Christmas present if I'm lucky
Anyway, more work - you can see the doors still got its original paint, as the edges have begun to flake:

Polished bonnet:
Door:
The infamous Godzilla tail lights. What most streeters see:
Products. Decided to use mostly his so we could finish them:

I think the Polyglaze polish turned out well, probably just as good as DC2. Problem is, it stinks like Metho and has permanently stained my cotton terry towel
Thank you Meguiars for making products that wash off!
And also thanks to Sophie for supervising:
