    I never detailed a Mercury Cyclone before.

    This was done for the orig. owner. It is a early 70s with a 429 motor.

    It had 30-some thousand miles on it and orig. tires!!!

    How cool is this!?!??!!

      I dont think i have even seen one of those before... pictures or in person... what the heck is the deal wih the nose

        I found this online -


        The Mercury Cyclone was restyled for 1970. The wheelbase grew an inch to 117 inches, but the overall length grew by 6.7 inches. The latter was due to a new protruding nose and fender design, that sported a gunsight-type design in the grille center. While its Ford Torino cousin got new fastback designs, Mercury intermediates did not, and also lost the convertible for its Montego series. The Cyclone hardtops had trunk lines about halfway between the old notchback hardtops and the fastbacks. There were three Cyclones for 1970, the base model, the Cyclone GT, and the Spoiler. The base Spoiler came with the 429 V8 rated at 360 bhp, a four-speed manual with Hurst Shifter, the Competition Handling Package, 3.25:1 rear end gearing and a bench seat. Options included the 370 bhp CJ 429, 375 bhp Super CJ 429 and in some cases, the Boss 429. The GT had only a lowly 351 cid V8 rated at 250 bhp. The new Cleveland 351 was optional.

            I'm a Chevy guy, but looks good....

            Did you have to detail the motor?

            When I was you younger my dad had a 1969 Olds 442 with a 455 that but down 500 horsepower at the rear wheels. I remember when the first time I drove it (it had the old steering box which was like 30 turns to lock) and I hammered it at about 30. I nearly fishtailied off the road, and had a hard time correcting it with that no feeling, no return to center power steering. Nothing like front disks/rear drums to stop 3900 lbs of muscle
            Let's make all of the cars shiny!

                I am a GM guy also, but in 1973 I had a Grand Torino Sport, 351 Cleveland. I think I paid 5017.00 dollars for it brand new. AAAAAHHH the good old days.

                Nice car and color, those 429's could haul some butt.
