This Ram was in pretty rough shape before hand and to this date was the toughest vehicle I have ever detailed. Unfortunatly, my camera went out on me, but the owner was kind enough to email me some afters.
The owner abused the surface of this car before becoming familiar with Autopia.com and becoming intrested in detailing and making his car look great. He had ordered some cool products, so I got to use them while washing and buffing his truck.
The fact my camera crapped out on me was a bad omen. When I got there the sun went away and the brinkman dual xenon broke. Argggg, I had no way of gauging the process of the surface. I guessed and went with 80 via rotary and then 80 via PC. Right when I was finishing up, the sun broke so we pulled the truck out, only to reveal probably the worst surface I had ever seen. Swirls, scratches, gouges....oh my.
So after 5 hours, it was back to the drawing board. I dialed in a process quickly, using what was left of the sun to gauge my progress.
2 passes Meguiars 83/DACP via rotary/8006 @ 1500 RPM
1 pass Meguiars 80/SpeedGlaze via rotary/8006 @1000 RPM
1 pass Meguiars 82/Swirlfreepolish via PC/80006 @ 5
Meguiars #7 via hand
2 coats Meguiars #21
I also used in various spots Lake Country Orange Pads and Menzerna IP as well as Lake Country White Pads and Menzera FPII.
The rims where dreesed with Poorboys Wheel Glaze (very nice product) and the tires with a new type of Eagle One stuff that isn't out yet.
Wheelwells recieved Hyperdressing 3:1, the Gibson exhaust recieved NXT All Metal Polysh.
A couple days later the owner applied some Nattys Blue Paste Carnuba Wax over the top of the 21. The results where stunning.
