meg's gold class wash, dried with MF & meg super MF drying towel, then meg's cleaner wax, and nxt tech paste wax, as well as mother's *cringe* polish on the wheels and exhaust.
No pics from the rear? I really like the tails on the GLI.

My sister wanted a GLI but with all the options she wanted (she HAD to have leather and a sunroof) it was way out of her budget. She ended up getting just a regular Jetta with leather and what not. Its a very nice car, and a huge improvement (IMO) over the last generation.
It looks very nice with the painted lower portions. However, that is the part of the car that gets beat up the most, its always covered in dirt and rocks and water get flung up at it constantly, thats why they're black. On my tC, the lower panels are painted and they're never clean. My $0.02 says it looks better when painted, but the black rubber is practical and isn't really worth the cost to paint.
Yeah, when I wash the plastics on the car I have to use shop towels (throw away cloth / terry towels) because they ruined a few of my microfibers...there's some kind of factory lubricant in / on them to keep them from drying out that REALLY picks up dust...but whatever they put on the plastics works REALLY well and I want to buy some of it...they don't have that "wet" look and it seems to really hydrate it and keep it looking perfect. This is my first "brand new" car, and I want to keep it perfect for as long as I have it.
One thing about the Mother's Polish though - from your pictures, it looks like your wheels are clear-coated aluminum, which wouldn't be a good thing to "polish" with a metal polish. Basically treat them the same way you treat your paint - but wax them more often because of the extreme heat involved.
