  • Wish I'd not bothered trying anything else!

Hi guys, I've just finished cleaning my Audi TT in readiness for the UK TT owners club meeting tomorrow.

I'd originally decided to try using Swissol products [very similar to Zymol - they did sue them!] but I just couldn't get the wax [a 40% carnauba paste] to finish how I wanted, there was always a small amount of smearing I couldn't get rid of no matter what I tried.

Dissatisfied then, I turned back to my old faithful Meguiars range.

    Process, all by hand, was:

    1. Wash with baby shampoo
    2. Wheels cleaned with Virosol [a citrus based degreaser, works v well]
    3. Dried with silicone type wiper and then water magnet
    4. DC1 [clayed only recently so didn't bother with that]
    5. DC2
    6. NXT liquid wax

Unfortunately it's nearly dark now and my aged camera and feeble camera skills haven't caught the shine/reflections at all well, but I'm very pleased with results [as usual!]

    Here's some pics:

Front view of the car, it's metallic black

A reflection shot off the roof

A reflection shot off the bonnet [or hood!]

Another shot of the bonnet with the flash on showing the fleck in the paint (the small blob in the bottom left corner must be an flash artifact, the bonnet was spotless)

I'm a bit annoyed I couldn't get any sun shots but that's life! Keep up the good work!

If your car looks that good with an "aged camera and feeble camera skills" then I'd say you've done an outstanding job - it looks fantastic!!!!
