  • Back to work tomorrow, detailed the Avalanche today

The end of my maternity leave (my vacation time), figured I'd spruce up my ride. I'm embarrassed of the paint's condition. (I need to work on my picture taking skills.)

There's plenty of work to do on this one. I tried to polish the truck earlier this spring but had hazing / marring problems so I stopped.

This time I tried #82. I hadn't cared for #82 as it seemed too watery and not very useful. Wrong! I made giant leaps in surface care knowledge with this product last night and today.

I still had the marring problem though. I had to re-polish the panels from last evening this morning with SSR 1. I felt there had to be a fix. How could a level 3 polish kick my rear end like that. Well I started again and worked the polish even longer. Problem solved.

I finally could see how polishes breakdown through the stages. If one questions how to know when a polish is broken down, they should first use the polish by hand to really see what's going on.

    Anyway the process...
    wash with hyper-wash
    #82
PBs SSR 1--> 1/2 the truck
Klasse AIO (cause I like it like that)
    #21 as the topper

    After
The first pic is a bit grainy

There's still some damage to the paint that I'll get next time. I didn't have a garage when I got the truck.

Did run into problems with #21. After an hour, here's the swipe test...

Still wet. Not sure what the problem was. Removal wasn't that bad though. This was weird too... Water droplet on the surface after I smeared the pad around.

    Nice Job!

I've also noticed the water drops with the #21. I have to believe that it is condensation built up inside the bottle or a result of evaporation which would cause the condensation or something like that!

i sorta had the same problem with the #21 the other day....it was in a squeeze bottle and i shook it up and it was really watery ...then I opened it up and dumped some of the water out and shook it up and it was ok...does anyone know why this happened?

Wash and a quick coat of wax

Had some free time to wash and apply a second coat of wax. The wax was leading brand X. I'm trying it for the first time. See if you can guess the wax...

I'll guess "X" is NXT. (Just 'cuz. )

D'OH!! I just saw what brand you used.
Oh well, can't win 'em all!
                    (Looks very nice, BTW!)

                      Hey Scrub, how's it going...

Your truck looks nice, I really like 82 on my black vehicles as it seems to leave behind a really nice finish, and is great for light marring IMO.

Okay, I'll bite what was the wax?

Going good my friend. How's business?

I moved from SC to NC and shut down my business. The folks around here are trying to get me to open up a new place here. After seeing my truck anyway!

#82 is a great product, now that I'm better at using it. Didn't see the need in it before. I like the work it does and how it doesn't leave much oil behind.

The topper is well, not a Meguiar's brand... Not sure if I can say what it is here.
