  • Pics from my first detail of 2006, TONS O PICS.. def not 56k friendly

My car was T-boned a few weeks ago and still waiting for her to be fixed up..

I joined this forum last week and just thought i would post some pics of the detail i did back in April... All comments/suggestions are welcome...

    Before Pics:

    After 1st wash:

After clay bar, paint cleaner, polish and 2 coats wax:

Brake dust is horrible on these cars, any suggestions on how to keep it off for more than 2 days after i clean them??

Good job, I really like the color.

It would aid in your cleanup to wax the wheels after cleaning them. The brake dust should be much easier to remove then.

      Car looks very nice!

My friend's dad also has a Mazda 6 and he also has a lot of brake dust that builds up on the wheels. I suspect it's the OEM brake pads that dust a lot.

I haven't had a lot of luck with waxing the wheels. One good day of hard braking and it's all gone. Maybe something synthetic like NXT will work better and not burn off as easy? And as mentioned above, switching pads would probably be the best answer to all the brake dust.

Your car looks great! Awesome color!

As for the wheels, it was mentioned above you might try waxing them. I wax mine once a year and it really seems to aid in cleaning, depending how in-depth you go it can be a dirty job but IMO its worth it. Here is the process I use: Wheels ~ the extra step....

Meguiars has also introduced a Quik Wheel Detailer™ Mist & Wipe, that might help you out in maintaining the look.

Bendix brake pads are great, very little brake dust. Something to consider if and when you change your pads.

Your car looks fantastic I love the Mazda 6.

I head if you go with ceramic brake pads there will be little or no brake dust i would talk with your local auto parts store

werd even a using something like a spray on wax will be perfect. it would drastically lower my wheel cleaning times plus any scratches from salt, dirt.... would pretty much be hidden and the wheels would look GREAT!
