  • Detailed:2003 Viper RT/10

This is one of five vehicles I did for a customer this week. Car had lots of water spots and fine scratches.

    Meguiar's Shampoo Plus Wash
    Meguiars' Clay Bar
    (While washing.)
    Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0
(EDGE 2000 Yellow Pad at #5)
    Meguiar's #7 Glaze
(EDGE 2000 Blue Pad at #3)
    Meguiar's #26 Yellow Wax
(2 coats allowed to dry 30 minutes per coat)
(Edge 2000 White Pad at #3)
(Removed with MF bonnet at #5)

    WOW!
I've heard of #7 being hot but man, it with #26, deep and wet. I'm even wondering why I would leave Meg's behind....ever.

    Layed it all out....LITTERALLY!

    Now the finished product...

Done over 25 vehicles with my new pads now. They are simply awesome! Held up strong, easy to clean, and no backing plate failures.

Awesome work as always. I plan on using your tip about buffing off #80 with NXT Spray Wax this coming weekend. I plan on doing a #80/NXT combo.

I always look forward to your detailing writeups.

Which cutting pad do you use for #80 or #83? Or does it depend on the car for you? Also, does the pad cleaner and conditioner work well?

Sapphire blue Viper... one of the rarest colors on a Viper.

                Looks great!

If you don't have problems with Meguiar's pads and couldn't think of how another pad could perform any better then why try?

Great job. But that is not an '03. Most likely a 2002....

I've had delamination problems on the pads and the backing plate. It's my fault since I use speed 6 on a G100 since my paint is really hard, so I just end up buying more pads. The Edge pads would eliminate both the backing plate and the adhesive problems. They're also double-sided. Nothing wrong about asking for opinions from someone who uses them.

I don't even run my PC on speed 6 and I've had pads (not Meguiar's) delaminate on me. I'm definitely going to be ordering the Edge 2000 system soon too.

                            Great Job !!

I noticed you mentioned no backing plate failures with the EDGE pads... Do these pads even require a backing plate? I notice that you don't have one on the DA...

My Meg's backing plate did fail on me once... I had to have it exchanged from the place I bought it from... I've yet to use the new one, but am scared that it'll follow in the same fate.

Never said any pad was better than another. Just said I prefer them. No backing plate and they line up perfectly.
