  • Starting over

Since it had been a while since I had been able to clean the car, I decided to 'start over.' After a 'wash/clay/wash,' I used DACP at '6' (2-3 passes), followed by NXT on '5.'

The rims got Klasse AIO, the tires were sprayed with NXT, which was allowed to sit overnight, then buffed the next day.

Looks good, nice looking yellow. I have always like yellow on a vehicle. Check the wheels out, didn't know that chrome could look so good really stands out over the glossy tires!

I really found that DACP used on a cutting pad, and from the beginning buffing it on '6' really does a job on the paint If it wasn't for the fact that DACP leaves no protection, I wouldn't have had a problem stopping there. The finish was that smooth and flaw-free.

Several the color difference in some of the pics is my fault, the yellow is hard to photograph in bright sun...it's difficult to see in the viewfinder, so I have to play with the brightness level on the computor to bring out more detail.

          Hi Don,

Did you find the cutting pad dulled your paint down?

And if so, did you find the DACP restored the clarity and gloss?

I have never found the cutting pad (LC Yellow) to have much (if any) dulling effect on the paint. The way I have found that works best for me is to apply the DACP (Swirl Free Polish, or other 'cutting' polish) is to start at 5-6 on the PC and just keep it at that speed. I work sections at a time, and watch the product go from it's normal viscosity and light tan color to a clear and lightly oily film.

The only reason I know it turns to dust is because I can see the dust on other surfaces of the car. It seems that most of the 'corrective' effects of the DACP start just before it changes color/consistancy and continue until there's nothing left.

This statement about sums it up:
