The cobalt seems like a pretty nice little car. I especially like it in that color, i just hope you don't ever need to repaint any of it, its been a long time since I priced that color out but it seemed like it was 60 something for a pint!
Bras can also trap moisture and may (not always) cause the paint to bloom white.
I have a PT Cruiser, and on some Cruiser forums this has been a common complaint. Although, I give ya an atta boy for wanting to keep your ride looking good as long as possible!
Shine on, Shine on, harvest moon...
ok I dont sing for squat!
I've had a lot of experience with those bras. Totally NOT worth it IMO. Yes, they trap moisture and the micro debris that goes with it. Everytime you take it off, you have to throughly clean it (ie wash and vaccum the inside) before you put it back on or else you'll just be putting on a dirty bra on a clean car. It gets really tiring after a while.
Although I would only use it for long extended trips (highway stuff). It's not worth it for daily. You're going to get chips in the paint no matter what you do unless you get that clear 3M bra.
I had a bra on my Chevy Cavalier since I had and never got chip's or the paint turned white. I read as long as you was under the bra the paint will be ok. The direction's on the bra even tell's you to put paste wax on the car before you install the bra.
Who are you trying to keep the paint nice underneath for? The next guy who owns it? A rock chipped front end looks much better than one with a huge piece of black vinyl laid over it.
FWIW....no one ever sees a car going down the street and say" A bra would make that car look great" or "Man that bra really makes that car look good"
I'm not trying to be a jerk or insulting. I just don't think bras have a place on any car. Especially not one that looks as nice and has as unique of a color as yours.
I had a Cavalier and before I got a bra for a rock but a nice size ding in the hood. When I a the bra and put it on it covered it up. Now if I had the bra on before that happened then I wouldn't have got that ding in the hood.
But the bra looks many times worse than the rock chip. Isn't that why we are all here? To keep out vehicles looking good? May as well wrap the whole vehicle in black vinyl if its all about protection and not about looks. Why not Stoneguard? Stoneguard actually makes sense in obtaining what we all are all here for. Good looking vehicles with paint that is in good condition.....not hidden.
I think the bra look's good on a car. Has long has you wax under the bra the paint will stay in great shape under it. I rather have the bra on then a bunch of rock chip's in the paint.
