  • My 1st car: Honda Civic finally detailed (pics inside)

I posed this over at autopia, but ill post it here too
    --------------
well, i finally got to detailing my 1st car properly'ish today. It was a hand me down from my bro, but it will do for highschool. I love this sucker.

Anyways, I only got the hood done, but youll get the idea. I think the results were pretty good. Not perfect, though.

    EVERYTHING WAS DONE BY HAND!

    Steps/Products used:
3m Perfect It II Rubbing Compound
    Stratch X
    Megs #7 Show Car Glaze
    Megs Gold Class Wax
And tons of foam pads, MF's, and terry towels

    And here we go!

Befores: badly oxidized, bird etchings, water spots, extensive swirls

During: I taped off half of the hood and did one side.

    Afters

There are still some swirls left, but 200% better than before. Ill have to wait for a DA to get those out!
    Enjoy!

u just started the endless process of deswirling by hand..... awesome......

nice reflections.... and for using scratch X i find using a terry cloth is easier than using a foam pad when lots and lots of passion is needed..... which it seems u do...... have some bandaids ready when ur blisters start peeling..... latex glove helps too....
